The Wine-Making Company De Toma

Few can boast a long history in producing Moscato di Scanzo and in cultivating this native vine which for four generations now is the soul of the De Toma household.A made to measure viticulture, allowing us to produce this precious passito or dessert wine.

An ancient tradition linked to the great architect from Bergamo Giacomo Quarenghi, who is said to have brought it to the court of the Tsar of Russia. According to legend, it was the year 1850 when this wine gained its first listing on the London stock exchange: Moscato di Scanzo, the only Italian wine to be quoted on that market.

From the same viticulture, these intensely fragrant grapes from this prestigious wine are distilled in small specialized copper stills and in this way comes the grappa, which is characterized by the typical aromatic qualities of the grape. The other product which is a symbol of our productivity is the Franciacorta Extra Brut DOCG wine, produced in the area of its namesake, close to the Sebino Lake. A new wine experience for our family, in an area rich in variability and unique in its kind.
